Excellent Opportunities Association (EOA) and The Recovery Village, in collaboration with supportive community organisations and professionals, successfully organised a “Nasha Mukti Sankalp Abhiyan” awareness workshop at Bhamla, Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.
The workshop brought together community representatives, Panchayati Raj members, police representatives, health professionals, psychologists, social workers, recovery professionals and local youth to spread awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and the importance of timely intervention, counselling and rehabilitation.
During the programme, experts discussed drug-abuse prevention, psychological support, counselling, treatment, relapse prevention, recovery, healthy lifestyle and community participation. Special emphasis was placed on encouraging young people to stay away from drugs and choose education, skills, sports, positive relationships and productive career opportunities.
Representatives associated with The Recovery Village shared important insights regarding addiction recovery, rehabilitation and supporting individuals during their recovery journey. EOA professionals and community members also highlighted the importance of mental health awareness and family support in successful rehabilitation.
The programme also promoted awareness regarding women’s safety, legal awareness, Nari Shakti, youth guidance and community responsibility, making the initiative broader than substance-abuse awareness alone.
EOA Founder Akshay Kumar emphasised that the fight against addiction requires collective responsibility. He encouraged young people to understand that a healthy and successful future is possible through education, counselling, skills, career guidance, sports and positive community engagement.
The organisers expressed their commitment to continuing awareness and community-based initiatives across Himachal Pradesh and other parts of India under the vision of a healthy, empowered and drug-free society.
